Doing our part to support families and communities around us!
Since the lock down began back in March, the demand for pizza deliveries has gone up!
We understand there are people who are self isolating, families who have small children or vulnerable family members and can't do their regular shopping and house holds who want to make the most of the time they are spending together! So as key workers, we have the very best intentions of helping those who need us - even if it is just delivering pizzas!
It has been a while since we have published a blog! We have been super busy here at Team Solent, but we wanted to ensure our customers and future employees that all of our procedures and processes have been adapted during these difficult times making sure everyone is safe!
As a company, since the start of the Coronavirus outbreak, we have constantly been changing our operations and processes in order to adapt to the latest directions from the government. We have put practices into place both for the customer and indeed our team members and future employees. Here are just a few examples of what we are doing:
We have implemented contact free deliveries in order for drivers to be able to distance. In addition, we taking card payments only and obviously this helped both Delivery Drivers and Instores to keep their distance.
Then we went delivery only which took away any further risk over the counter. In terms of the Instore team we made changes by changing the front counter space. By going delivery only this reduced the number of people we needed in the store at any one time. We implemented a rule of no more than three drivers in store at one time.
There are now very specific positions in the store for all team members. They are separated by Perspex sheets. This is to ensure protection between team members. Specific game plans have been organised for each individual store which dictates how many people we can have operationally on the shop floor.
Social distancing has definitely helped reduce the spread of Coronavirus over the past few weeks so the 2 metre rules are actively followed at all times inside and outside our stores. "Runners" are taking the orders out to drivers cars to avoid too many people in our stores at once.
As we all know regular hand washing is imperative during these times and all of our team members are doing their part. Sanitation stations have also increased and regular cleaning of all work surfaces and equipment takes place throughout the day at every store!
