Updated: Jun 21, 2019

We sat down with our Southampton Area Trainer, Laura, to find out more about her role within Team Solent!

How long have you been with Solent Pizza?

I’ve been with Solent Pizza since 2004, so 15 years!

What was your first role within Team Solent?

I was originally a delivery driver in the Alverstoke Store.

What is your favourite pizza?

Oooh, my favourite pizza on the menu at the moment is definitely the Meatfielder because I LOVE chorizo and meatballs!

How fast can you make one large cheese and tomato pizza?

A large cheese and tomato? Probably about 15 seconds!

Have you ever entered the fastest pizza maker competition?

I did the heats for fun but no I haven’t entered it, perhaps I should!! (DO IT!)

What does a typical week look like for you?

So a typical week, I might hold some classes – where we train managers in a classroom environment. I’ll be going around stores and holding pizza making workshops with new team members. Or I might be supporting a member of management through their progression and helping them with their assessments.

What is the best part of your job?

Best part of my job is seeing managers progress through different roles within the business.

What is your fondest memory whilst working with Team Solent?

So my fondest memory would have to be when I was given the opportunity to go to Las Vegas for the annual awards rally. This is where thousands and thousands of Dominoids get together and celebrate what Domino’s is all about and we just have a great time and celebrate our successes!

What advice would you give to someone who is interested in a career with Team Solent?

I would say if you want to have a career that is great fun, energetic and a really nice environment to be in then Domino’s is for you, but you need to be prepared to work hard, you need to be prepared to work fast and you need to be prepared get stuck in.

What makes an employee stand out?

Employees stand out by their work ethic and their ability to motivate other members of the team.

Why should other people choose Team Solent as their next career step?

Because we have great fun, we love what we do, and we work extremely hard.
