• Solent Pizza

We sat down with our Waterlooville Store Manager, Alex, to talk about all things Domino's!

How long have you been with Solent Pizza?

I’ve been with Team Solent for 7 years now, so I started in 2012.

What is your favourite pizza?

Just a cheese and tomato, occasionally I like to go with the BBQ base and garlic butter, but cheese and tomato is nice and simple!

What was your first job role within Team Solent?

I started off as an Instore Team Member as a CSR (Customer Service Rep) part time whilst I was at college and here I am 7 years later!

What do you look for in a Domino’s Team Member?

Somebody who can communicate. Communication in this job is everything and it’s what helps us get the job done.

How fast can you make one large cheese and tomato pizza?

If we’re talking just how fast then I think somewhere between 15 and 20 seconds, I’m not too sure, I haven’t timed myself in a while!

We decided that it was time for Alex to time himself again, so we went ahead and did! We can now reveal that he can in fact make one large cheese and tomato pizza in an incredible... 12 seconds! WOW!

When you’ve finished your shift, what do you like to do to unwind?

I normally go home and watch a film or play some video games. Anything to just chill out for the evening really.

What advice would you give to new starters for them to do well within Team Solent?

Just to work hard and bring your A-Game to every shift. As long as they’re willing to learn and put in the work then anybody can do this job, but they have to be willing to get stuck in!

What 3 words would you use to describe Team Solent?

That’s really difficult! Supportive would definitely be one! Driven; so Team Solent like to push you to be the best you can be. Finally, just fun! I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the great people I work with every day, so definitely fun!

You’ve been with us for just over 7 years now, which store has been your favourite to work in and why?

I have only worked in two stores. Obviously I love and enjoy the store I am in now which is Waterlooville, but Fratton has got to be my favourite because I have so many good memories there and the rushes were great!

What keeps you going during the rush (busy period)?

I just want to go out and smash it. I hate being slow and I know that nobody can be perfect, but you can be excellent so that’s what I thrive to be!

If you want to bring your 'A-Game' to work each and every day then we are the company for you! Come and join our "supportive", driven and fun" team by applying today!
