Domino's Delivery Cyclists are today's genius's.

We all have to do our bit to reduce our carbon footprint but life can be hectic....working, saving money, keeping fit and looking after your well-being, it's hard to fit it all in! However, our Domino's Delivery Cyclist's manage to do all of that....and get paid to do it! Brilliant!

Check out why being a Delivery Cyclists for Domino's makes you a genius!

Saves the planet

It takes about 5% of the materials and energy that are used to make a car to build a bike. And a bike produces zero pollution when it’s being ridden.

In addition, if more people swapped the short journeys made by car for a bike there would be a lot less carbon pollution. Did you know that more than two-thirds of all car journeys made in the UK are between one and two miles and almost 75% are less than five miles? Yet many of these journeys could be done by bike instead. That’s why we are doing our bit by getting more bikes on the road! Our Cyclists only cycle a 1.5 mile radius from the store, leaving the longer journeys for the car delivery drivers….even that’s only 4 miles!!

The feel-good factor

Many types of exercise are helpful for boosting the feel-good hormones and endorphins and cycling is one of the best. Cycling also makes you smile and feel better because it’s outdoors in the fresh air and sunlight and has we head to spring and summer who doesn’t like being outside, feeling the wind in their hair and having a sense of freedom!

Even if you are not in the best of moods when you get on your bike it’s likely that you will find yourself smiling half-way through your ride – and especially afterwards. That feel-good factor can last for many hours more as well.

For weight loss

Cycling is a great calorie burner! Even a short but regular bike ride will be beneficial to your physical health and can help you to lose weight. Plus, who wants to pay £40 for a gym membership to ride a stationary bike in a stuffy gym when Domino’s can pay you to ride your bike outside, deliver pizzas to our customers and you can get fit at the same time! Let’s collaborate!

Saves money

Apart from walking and running, cycling is the cheapest way to get from A to B. Owning and running a car can cost £100+ per month, which is fine if you have a budget for that, however if you are a student, saving up for something special or don’t think it’s a priority a bike can cost just £80 - £100 and can easily last 8-10 years. What an investment!

To boost your health

Another benefit is the boost to your longer-term health.

It is also a great way to improve your immune system and apparently people who cycle regularly have the carefree feeling of someone 10 years younger than them!

It’s faster

Cycling short distances, especially at busy commuter times, can often be quicker than driving. So at 5pm when college/university/work has finished and people get home and realise they can't be bothered to cook…that’s when we get busy!

In fact, research by Citroen found that cyclists in many of the UK’s major cities arrived at a destination in half the time of cars and for us that’s great news! The quicker we get to our customers doors the better!

You’ll sleep better

Cycling is good for promoting a better quality of sleep. Supposedly if you have trouble getting to sleep at night, cycling just 20/30 minutes 3 days a week will help you get to sleep at night in half of the time!! Ah what a dream...literally!
