TIME FOR A CAREER CHANGE?
Here's how to make things happen. We are here to help!
Are you looking for a better salary, more flexible hours, job satisfaction, progression? There are a whole host of reasons why you might be considering a career change.
And of course, it can be really scary, stepping into the unknown.
As you know, here at Team Solent we always have your back, weather it's advise, guidance or even some insightful facts about what we do here!
1. Ask yourself why do you want a career change?
Before you go quitting your current job, it’s important to understand why you’re doing it in the first place.
Is there an aspect in your job that you specifically don’t like?
Or are you tired of your entire career and industry as a whole?
Are you looking to learn new skills and try something completely different?
You may find that you actually just want a new job at a new company to show yourself what you are really made of!
2. Assess your strengths and passions.
Although work is never going to be fun 24/7, you need to consider your interests and your desires, looking for a career that will fulfil (or at least partially fulfil) them. You want a career that will get you out of bed in the morning! This is your perfect chance for a new start!
3. Create a plan with achievable goals.
Two, three or five years, know what you are aiming for. Find out what will get your foot in the door and begin constructing a plan. You may find that you have gaps in the knowledge and skills required for the career, and may have to work extra hard to make sure you adapt and learn these new skills quickly.
